La Forge de Savignac est une vieux bâtiment délabré perdu dans une combe boisée au bord de l'Auvézère. Elle est surplombée par le château des maîtres forgerons de l'époque. Pour une fois, je n'ai pas raté mon ciel!
The Savignac Steel Mill is an old decrepit building lost in a valley in the woods by the Auvezère river. From above, the Masters who lived in the castle could overlook the work. For once I didn't mess up the sky!

In my apprentice exprerimentations, one of the biggest difficulties I face is capturing a sky that doesn't end up bland. I still have much progress there, but this is one of my rare more or less successful attempts.

Juste avant de partir en vacances, j'ai fait l'acquisition d'un nouvel objectif Canon 85mm 1.8, et cette photo d'une pile de poivrons au marché de Thiviers (24) est une des premières dont je suis très content.
Just before I left for the holidays I acquired a new Canon 85mm 1.8 lens, and this photo of a pile of peppers at the Thiviers (Dordogne) open air market is one of the first that I'm happy with.

I deliberately overexposed this photo of the roofs of Chambord, and I find the result quite charming, verging on black and white. At least it's different...

I love this photo, even though there's nothing all that special about it. I find the grain just beautiful, and it's not often I manage to do kids photos that feel natural.

Puits Central de l'Escalier de Chambord (2009-05-21)
Le double escalier hélicoïdal de Chambord est mondialement connu, et en conséquence de nombreux apprentis photographes ont sans doute la même photo dans leur collection: c'est le puits de lumière central photographié d'en bas.
The double-helix staircase of Chambord castle is world renowned, and as a consequence many amateur photographers probably have the same photo in their collection: that of the central lightshaft, shot from downstairs.
