C'est juste un cadrage panorama et pas un vrai panorama "stitché" mais je trouve que ça met bien la petite église des Rousses en valeur.
It's just a panorama framing and not a real "stiched" panorama, but I think it frames the little church of Les Rousses nicely.

I find myself increasingly interested in shooting portraits with a shallow depth of field. When my victims, errr... subjects are willing, I shoot! I'm particularly pleased with this one...

La semaine prochaine, je serais l'heureux propriétaire d'un Lensbaby Composer, un objectif un peu bizarre à mise au point manuelle avec une zone de netteté sélective. En fait, techniquement je suis déjà propriétaire, mais il m'attend à Boston où je pars Lundi pour le boulot. Depuis que j'ai décidé de faire cet achat (somme toute assez modeste), je regarde régulièrement le site de Lensbaby ou de nombreuses photos utilisant cet objectif sont publiées. Lensbaby va même publier un livre de photos et a fait appel aux amateurs pour proposer les leurs. Ce sont les résultats de ce concours qui viennent d'être publiés, même si pour ma part je trouve que certaines photos de la section mentions honorables sont plus intéressantes que les gagnants... Next week I will be the happy owner of a Lensbaby Composer, a somewhat strange manual focus lens with selective sharpness. Technically, I'm already the owner actually, but it's waiting for me in Boston where I will be next week. Since I decided to purchase this (reasonably priced) lens, I regularly check the Lensbaby website where many photos using their lenses are published. Lensbaby is even going to publish a book of photos and asked for amateur contributions. The results of that contest have just been published even if in my opinion some of the honorable mention photos are a lot more interesting than some of the winners... (The photo here is (c) Ken Ross)
Tout à l'heure en revenant de St Lazare j'ai pris quelques photos à travers la fenêtre du train. Beaucoup de déchet, je ne sais pas trop ce que je fais, en fait, mais celle-ci m'a paru intéressante encore que le reflet aurait pu être plus net.
Earlier today, heading back from the St Lazare train station I took a few shots through the train window. Not much good, and I'm not sure I know what i'm doinf, but this one felt interesting even though the reflection could have been sharper.

Il y a quelque chose de très graphique avec le trombone. Sa longueur et le fait que son pavillon ne cache pas le visage du musicien en font un bon candidat pour des photos intéressantes. J'espère avoir réussi avec Joop ven der Linden du Amsterdam Klezmer Band, dont vous pouvez d'ailleurs voir d'autres photos dans mon album Flickr mais aussi dans la série nettement plus réussie de mon ami et néanmoins photographe (non apprenti) Fred Courtois.
There is something very graphic about the trombone. Its length and the fact that its bell doesn't hide the musician's face allow for interesting photos. I hope to have achieved that with Joop van der Linden of the Amsterdam Klezmer Band.
